Boston Celtics superstar, and reigning NBA Champion, Jayson Tatum will be the cover star of NBA 2K25, which is scheduled to release on 6th September. The icon will front the standard edition of the game across both PS5 and PS4, but those who plump up for the more expensive All-Star Edition will find him accompanied by Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson. Wilson will also headline a GameStop exclusive WNBA Edition in the United States. Elsewhere, eight-time All-Star Vince Carter will front the Hall of Fame Edition.
Here’s a full breakdown of what all the various options include:
There’s very little information about the game itself just yet, but 2K Sports promises “enhanced authenticity and realism powered by ProPLAY technology” on PS5 specifically. The press release expands: “New-gen NBA 2K25 delivers the franchise’s most true-to-life basketball experience yet, offering players the ultimate control in how they dominate the competition.”
There’s the promise of a more “compact” interactive City this time, which will hopefully make getting about in MyCAREER a little less frustrating. Popular modes like MyTEAM and MyNBA will also return, but there’s currently no word on what they will entail – or what improvements fans can expect from them.
