Blue Beetle BTS Set Photo Gives Best Look Yet At DCEU Hero's Costume

A couple months after images leaked of the suit, a new Blue Beetle behind-the-scenes photo has offered the best official look yet at the DC Extended Universe hero's costume. Xolo Maridueña, best known for his work on Netflix's Cobra Kai as Miguel Diaz, is set to lead the upcoming film as Jamie Reyes, an El Paso teenager who discovers the alien Blue Beetle scarab that grafts onto his body and gives him a super-powered exosuit. Alongside Maridueña, the cast for Blue Beetle includes Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Harvey Guillén, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo and Susan Sarandon.
Development on the Blue Beetle film was first announced in late 2018 with Miss Bala scribe Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer tapped to write the script. Progress would go quiet for a few years, however, until Charm City Kings' Angel Manuel Soto was brought on to direct in early 2021 and Warner Bros. slated the film for an HBO Max release. Casting would kick off shortly thereafter, with Maridueña set as Jamie in August 2021 and filming on Blue Beetle kicking off this past May and now audiences are getting an exciting new look from the set.

With production nearing an end on the film, star Bruna Marquezine took to her Instagram (via Reddit account DCEU Leaks) to share a new Blue Beetle BTS set photo. The image gives the best and most official look yet at the DCEU hero's costume, with Maridueña attached to wires in his super suit. Check out the BTS photo below:
