Black Myth: Wukong, the long, long-awaited action RPG centred around classic Chinese literature, got another trailer at Gamescom.
The trailer gives us a good look at Black Myth: Wukong's souls-like gameplay, after years of waiting for the game to be launched. While we're still quite a way off from being able to play it ourselves, the game is clearly coming along nicely with much to show for itself after so long in the oven.

Check out the latest trailer below, as just revealed at Gamescom's Opening Nigth Live.
Revealed back in August 2020, Black Myth: Wukong won't launch until at least summer 2024. However, this trailer gives us a good look at what the devs have been up to during this time, making the most of all the various pushbacks over the years.
Despite always impressing at showcases like this, Black Myth isn't without controversy. Last year, the release of a new Black Myth gameplay trailer was used to remind fans of misogynistic comments made by a lead developer at Game Science. Studio founder Féng Jì had previously commented that Black Myth "needed no female players". He also made several sexually charged comments on social media while discussing work, such as: "I want to expand our workforce and hire more people. I want to be licked so much that I can't have an erection anymore."
Back in 2020, Game Science was also reported to have a toxic "male-dominated" workplace culture. It's not clear if this has improved since then, or if the team is still largely dismissive of the need to appeal to women both in the industry and in the playerbase.
Black Myth clearly has high ambitions, securing big showcase slots such as Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
