WARNING: This post contains Better Call Saul season 6 spoilers
Better Call Saul star Tony Dalton talks about his character Lalo's death in the midseason premiere of the show's final season. After a short hiatus, Better Call Saul season 6 returned with the episode «Point and Shoot.» It picks up from right where the midseason finale left off, in the immediate aftermath of Lalo shockingly murdering Howard Hamlin in front of Jimmy McGill and Kim Wexler. Given the cliffhanger nature of the midseason finale, audiences were eagerly anticipating what would happen next. The creative team had more surprises in store.
After instructing Kim Wexler to go to Gustavo Fring's house and kill him, Lalo ties up Jimmy and explores Fring's industrial laundry, where he suspects him constructing a meth superlab that fans come to see in Breaking Bad. After finding Gus there, he forces him at gunpoint to reveal the underground lab, while filming him to show to their cartel boss Don Eladio. Unbeknownst to Lalo, Gus secretly hid a gun beneath the dirt of the lab a few episodes earlier and outsmarts him when he abruptly cuts the power off and shoots him dead in the neck. Lalo gets one last look at Gus, smiling and laughing before he perishes.
