Walt & Jesse's highly anticipated Better Call Saul season 6 cameos just became way more important to the Breaking Bad spinoff's ending. Even before the premiere dropped, Better Call Saul's final season faced huge swathes of uncovered narrative ground. Nevertheless, the breakneck pace of Jimmy McGill's closing chapter totally exceeds expectations, with Nacho dying in episode 3, Howard getting himself whacked in episode 7, and Gus Fring killing Lalo Salamanca in episode 8.
Refusing to let that accelerator rest, Better Call Saul's «Point & Shoot» feels eerily like a penultimate episode, when in fact 5 whole installments remain. Since Better Call Saul's Lalo and Gus feud has now been settled, however, a massive chunk of story has already been fully resolved. Back when season 6 began, the two biggest remaining narratives of Better Call Saul's prequel timeline were Jimmy and Kim's fate and the Lalo vs. Gus war. Compelling though Jimmy and Kim's future may be, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould don't need a full 5 episodes to wrap up that relationship. Even factoring in some inevitable Gene timeline material, what on Earth will the rest of Better Call Saul season 6 actually be about?

That conundrum might just prove how important Walt and Jesse will be. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are confirmed to return in Better Call Saul season 6, with each actor getting a solo scene and sharing a screen for the last (maybe) time.
