Battlefield 2042 Adding New Scoreboard Next Month
Much has been said about Battlefield 2042 and the numerous issues players have faced, but they’ll have fewer to deal with in the near future. Among them is Battlefield 2042’s scoreboard, which DICE has confirmed will be getting replaced next month.
Ever since they first got their hands on the game, players have taken issue with various aspects of Battlefield 2042’s current scoreboard. One of the biggest complaints is that, while individual stats are tracked, the game currently doesn’t track how one’s kills, assists, revives, etc. compare to other players in a match, making it less of an actual scoreboard and less helpful for competitive-minded players overall.

This won’t be the case for too much longer. DICE announced this week that it will be introducing a “refreshed” scoreboard with Update 3.3, slated to arrive in “mid to late” February. The main addition will be a new panel that will show players and their squadmates’ stats next to those of the top-performing players in any given match. What’s more, the panel will differentiate between real players and AI bots, so players will have a better idea of whether they’re competing with other people or the game itself.
Some players may have a few complaints about the new scoreboard, but DICE stressed that it’s still a work-in-progress. Once the refresh drops into the live game, the developer intends to continue iterating on the scoreboard based on feedback. As such, it remains to be seen how the scoreboard will evolve further in Battlefield 2042.
