DICE has delayed Battlefield 2042’s next update, which will introduce a refreshed scoreboard, among other features.
Originally scheduled to launch in mid to late February, Battlefield 2042 update 3.3 will now arrive in early March.
“The extra time will help to ensure we improve the quality of our Updates, and include additional changes,” DICE said on Thursday.
Commenting on the update earlier this week, the studio said the game’s refreshed in-round scoreboard “will be an ongoing evolution” from some work in progress shared in January (pictured below).
“We have heard your feedback around including two tables and separating your own team versus the enemy, and are working on incorporating that for the release. K/D scoring and End of Round reporting will also be coming in a future update.”
DICE is also looking to introduce support for in-game voice chat, and player profile changes that give users a better overview of their progress and how far they have to go for their next unlock “as soon as possible”.
The scoreboard’s scheduling slip follows the delay of Battlefield 2042’s first season of live content earlier this week, which DICE said has been pushed back so it can focus on improving the quality of the current product following a disappointing launch.
Originally anticipated to launch by March, Battlefield 2042 Season 1 will now arrive in the summer of 2022.
Following the delay, the CEO of DICE’s parent company, Electronic Arts, said the publisher remains committed to Battlefield 2042 and the franchise’s fans.
