The BBC has set a UK premiere date of February 27 for Peaky Blinders season 6, which will be the popular show's last. The British television series created by screenwriter Steven Knight is set in Birmingham, England and follows the exploits of the Peaky Blinders crime organization in the direct aftermath of World War I. The fictional gang is loosely based on a real urban youth gang who were actively operating in the city from the 1890s to the 1910s. Peaky Blinders first premiered in September 2013 and has gathered a large fan following throughout its five-season run so far.
Inception and Dunkirk actor Cillian Murphy stars in the lead role as the head of the Peaky Blinders, Thomas «Tommy» Shelby, and is joined by series regulars Paul Anderson, Joe Cole, Annabelle Wallis, Finn Cole, and the late Helen McCrory. The series also features several well-known actors appearing in recurring roles, including the likes of Sam Neill, Aidan Gillen, Adrien Brody, Sam Claflin, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlotte Riley, and Tom Hardy, who will reprise his role as Alfie Solomons in the upcoming season 6.
