Baldur's Gate 3 players say that Act 3 has been performing worse since the latest patch dropped, with some even saying that the latter parts of the game are "unplayable". From textures not loading to huge delays in combat, players are calling on Larian to fix patch 4 so they can finish their campaigns.
PC players might be in luck, as fans have found an unofficial fix that might make things more playable until the next update is rolled out. However, with console users unable to enact these changes, they're still reporting issues with the visuals and game behaviour, further frustrating a final act that had already proven buggy since launch.
"Since patch 4, the entire environment in Act 3 [has] shut down," says Reddit user King_Brass. "Companions do not follow Tav, NPCs walk in place or completely vanish, unable to interact with anyone or anything, unable to select different companions, cannot save, and cannot reload. The lag will resolve for about 15 seconds every 10 minutes. Please fix this asap Larian."
Patch 4 was rolled out on November 4. Given the time between previous patches, we might get another one soon. We've had two hotfixes since, but they don't seem to have addressed these Act 3 concerns.
Others very much agree that this is an issue. "I was on my second playthrough, and the game is unplayable reaching Act 3," says rosecoloredxboy. "Literally passing the Basilisk Gate is when your party will stop following and start to lag."
