Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6 Adds Even More Kissing Animations

Baldur's Gate 3's next big patch is coming next week, adding "improved smooches". In a post teasing Patch 6, Larian gives us a preview of the changes we can expect, showing an updated kiss between Halsin and Astarion.

This follows on from previous updates, which also added unique kissing animations for various characters. Originally, all characters shared the same animation, which was just a quick peck on the lips. Now, most characters have kisses that suit their personalities, and they can even change depending on when and where you ask your partner for a smooch.

We're yet to see how far these changes will go, but fans of certain characters will be hoping that their romances are expanded. Wyll and Minthara lovers in particular have complained about the lack of content in their romances for some time, so hopefully, they'll get some new kisses for their troubles.

However, Patch 6 will add more than just some new smooches. We're also getting new idle animations at camp, as well as more Legendary Actions for the Honour Mode difficulty. We're not quite sure what these will be yet, but we'll find out soon enough when Patch 6 drops next week.

Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 5 was huge, adding an epilogue and the new Honour Mode difficulty. In fact, it won TheGamer Ace award for the best game expansion of 2023 .

If I had to take a guess, the fact that this seems to be a romance-centric update suggests that the patch will go live on February 14, Valentine's Day. So, you better apologise to your real-life partners in advance, because many of us will probably be spending the day booting up old save files to see if the kisses play out any differently with our romance partners.

Many fans in the replies are hoping that this will be the update that adds both photo mode and cross-play too, although that seems a little less likely. While both features are said to be on the way, Larian would probably be leading with that here if that were the case, not animation changes. Either that, or
