The 2023 Game of the Year, Baldur’s Gate 3 , has had a few issues surface lately, one of which can get players banned by Xbox.
While the immersive gameplay and seemingly never-ending dialogue choices feed into the game's monumental amounts of praise, Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t come without faults. One of which has left players livid as their save files don’t fully save to the disk prior to exiting the game. While Larian Studios is fully aware of the issue , a complete fix hasn’t been implemented as of yet.
There is, however, a workaround players can use in order to stop the save issue from occurring. Creating a Larian account via their website, activating cross-saves, and linking an Xbox account will help everyone to avoid the issue at hand.
Now, as for the other side of the coin, players are seeing bans from Xbox entirely for things happening without them realizing it. Reddit user DaddyVegas learned firsthand that uploading explicit nude content from the gameplay is a violation that gets players three strikes without warning.
After recording three clips while playing the game, Xbox automatically uploaded them to the server since the user did not have auto-sharing toggled off. Within seconds of the clips being uploaded, Veas found the account had been banned and was given no time to appeal or react to the issue before it was already set in stone.
Apparently, there have been other cases of this issue occurring with other games as this topic brought other people to Reddit to discuss the same type of ban hitting their accounts.
