Asus is getting ready with the ROG Phone 6, the successor to its popular gaming smartphone from last year, the ROG Phone 5. The ROG Phone 6 will be released on July 5 and is expected to offer several new features and improvements over its predecessor. Asus is yet to reveal the design of the phone and while we all know that Asus hasn’t bothered to change the design of the phone in the last four generations, we aren’t really expecting a major design change this year. Spoiler alert, that is the case once again.
The ROG Phone 6 has been spotted in TENAA, showing its entire rear and front design. The front is difficult to figure out given that display is turned off in the photo. However, it is the rear where Asus has done its job well. The phone looks familiar to the previous ROG Phone models we have seen but there are mild differences to the design. The biggest one is the repositioning of the rear display that debuted on the ROG Phone 5 series last year. The camera hump is bigger this year too, with three camera expected to grace the handset.
The ROG Phone 6 goes for a minimalist look compared to its predecessors and while the form factor is the same, the rear looks refreshing.
Other than the design, previous leaks have also revealed the specifications and features of the handset. The phone will feature the powerful and more efficientSnapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset along with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB storage. The phone will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED with an even higher 165Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to be still powered by a 6000mAh battery and will be assisted with the 65W wired charging solution.
