Of the 300 bots that you rescue throughout the entirety of the recently released Astro Bot, 150 of them are VIP bots, which is to say they’re robot versions of characters from other franchises associated with PlayStation, both first- and third-party. It seems, however, that developer Team Asobi has yet more VIP bots planned that it could add down the line, as suggested by the game’s end credits.
Caught by VGC, Astro Bot’s end credits mention all the third-party franchises (and their owners) that it uses, though interestingly enough, some of the games and properties that it does mention are not present in the game.
Specifically, the end credits mention Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Worms, and Croc. None of these properties are featured in the base game, suggesting that Team Asobi is set to add VIP bots based on them with upcoming DLC, which is confirmed to be in development.
Recently emerged early development concept art also revealed plans for some first-party PlayStation characters appearing in the game that ended up being cut. Read more on that through here.
