We haven't heard much about Assassin's Creed Codename Red, nor seen anything of it. We know it's finally taking the series to Feudal Japan, but beyond that, Ubisoft has kept tight-lipped. However, writer Pierre Boudreau updated (and then quickly deleted) his LinkedIn banner with key art showing the game's protagonist, giving us our first look at the Shinobi we'll be playing as.
As reported by GameInfinitus, the banner includes her name under the logo, reading "ナオエ", which translates to Naoé. The banner doesn't give too much else away, but if you've been itching to see who will helm Codename Red after Kassandra and Eivor's games, now you know.

A leaker by the name of j0nathan also shared the banner yesterday along with the character's name, but he followed it up with alleged details about the plot. He claims that Naoé has a similar story to Bayek from Assassin's Creed Origins. A member of the Order will supposedly kill her father, sparking a quest for revenge that leads her to join the Shinobi ranks. That's also similar to Arno, Ezio, and countless other assassins.
From previous games, we know that the Japanese Assassins were established in 1549 by Shao Jun's apprentice Xiao Hu. Ezio Auditore met Shao Jun in 1524, so Codename Red will likely take place not long after the events of the Assassin's Creed 2 trilogy, bringing us back to the age of Templars and Assassins after a lengthy hiatus.
There have also been leaks claiming the game will feature an African male Samurai protagonist. It's unclear where he fits in, but leakers allege that Codename Red will periodically switch between the two, rather than making you pick one or the other.
