Game Rant is giving away 500 closed beta keys for Ascendant, a new squad-based tactical FPS that describes itself as the world's first «adaption» shooter. Ascendant has turned heads since its initial reveal, and developer PlayFusion is going all-out to deliver an over-the-top experience that should provide something genuinely unique in the crowded FPS landscape.
Described as a twist on the classic Capture the Flag mode, the main goal in Ascendant is to locate and acquire biocores and be the team to successfully extract with them. The dynamic map is stuffed with special events, which, combined with the game's wealth of player and weapon customization, ensures that every match is different from the last. What's been shown of Ascendant so far looks impressive, and so it's safe to say that many FPS fans will want to give it a shot as soon as possible.
The Ascendant closed beta test will take place from April 5 to April 6. European servers will be active from 6pm — 10pm BST both days, while US servers will be active from 5pm — 11pm PT both days. Anyone interested can download Ascendant directly from the website, with pre-loads starting April 4. Players will be prompted to input their beta key upon booting up the game for the first time. Since this is a closed beta, only those with keys will be able to participate. Sign up for the Ascendant closed beta for your chance to get one of 500 keys and play the game from April 5 to April 6.
