Amnesia: The Bunker just received another delay announced via Twitter by Frictional Games co-owner and Creative Lead Fredrik Olsson.
In a video message, Olsson explained why and also revealed that a demo will be available on Steam on May 22nd.
We here at Frictional have been working really, really hard trying to make Amnesia: The Bunker the best game it can possibly be. I think I speak for the whole team when I say that we are super excited with what we've accomplished for this game. Everything is coming together so nicely. We have the gameplay, the art, the animation, the atmosphere, the narrative...Everything is just coming together and we are really ready to ship this out into the world and hear what people have to say about it.
However, I am coming to you as the bearer of bad news here because we have recently been forced to take the decision to delay Amnesia: The Bunker once again, this time for two weeks. We won't make it on the 23rd of May; instead, the new release date is the 6th of June.
We're going through the certification process and we have encountered multiple rare crashes that are very difficult to identify, reproduce, and thereby also fix. We simply can't make it in time.
The alternative, of course, I guess would have been to ask the team to work weekends or nights, but that's simply something we don't do here at Frictional Games. Hoping that a bit of good news for you is that very soon you will at least get to play the game, part of the game, through a demo that will be released on Steam.
