The final chapter of the Race to World first has begun! In today's Daily Recap video, Dratnos and Tettles look back at Neltharion and look forward to Sarkareth. Yesterday's video featured predictions of Sarkareth 80% or 40% from Dratnos and Tettles respectively, and Tettles' prediction ended up being spot on, with Liquid at just over 40% on the boss at time of recording.
This has made even the last boss of the raid follow this tier's trend of appearing undertuned at first, though it's important to note that with end bosses especially, the last few percent are often the biggest challenge as the DPS check can sometimes be immense. Neltharion's fall under 100 pulls was somewhat surprising, as both Liquid and Echo were able to handle the fight's seemingly very scary mechanics without too much trouble.
Since PTR, that encounter's infinite range line of sight mechanic got changed to just a larger circle than heroic, which was still nasty but a bit more manageable. This mirrors what happened with Magmorax, where the PTR version of the encounter had a very challenging mechanic to solve that ended up not making it to the live servers.
Sarkareth is now the question mark, with Liquid, Echo, and Method progressing the boss. Will it have a secret mythic phase? Will the DPS check be super tight? Will it be killable this reset? Tune in tomorrow when we may know the answers!
