The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has — unsurprisingly — recorded the UK's biggest physical game launch of the year so far, comfortably beating what Hogwarts Legacy managed in its first week by more than 50 per cent. It took top spot from the aforementioned title, and it's probably going to stay there for the coming weeks. As the sequel pretty much takes over social media, FOMO will surely fuel more sales of the Nintendo title.
Tears of the Kingdom has recorded the best week-one physical sales of any Zelda game in the UK's history, and no PS5, PS4 game has been able to compete with it. Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and FIFA 23 all make way for it, while Dead Island 2 slips to sixth. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild even received a large sales bump; there were enough boxed purchases to see it land in eighth. With Sony even highlighting the game's launch, it is the sort of release where the entire industry kind of stops for a second to take note of the experience.
These sorts of games don't come around too often — the last would probably be Elden Ring — so it's no surprise to see it topping sales charts. Expect the same to happen globally too. Here's the latest top 10 in full.

Well lets be honest, buy a Switch and get maybe one or two games a year, amongst all the drivel. Hated, hated breath of the wild, Immortals Fenix Rising was more fun.
