Amazon, Embracer Group Team Up to Develop and Publish a The Lord of the Rings MMO - Hardcore Gamer
Amazon Games, Embracer Group/Freemode, and Middle-earth Enterprises today announced a partnership to develop and publish a new The Lord of the Rings MMO.
A new The Lord of the Rings MMO is coming our way courtesy of Amazon Game Studios. The trio announced the partnership today, confirming the MMO would be an open-world adventure and include the stories of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The MMO is currently in early stages of production, but will eventually launch on consoles and PC. As Warner Bros. is the sole holder of the film rights, this MMO will be based off the books. Amazon Games Orange County will handle development duties.
