Activision has published an in-depth preview of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s multiplayer offering.
In a new blog, the publisher has detailed every map, mode and Operator available at launch, along with new details on features including Theater Mode, the Firing Range and Training Course.
The multiplayer launch modes, which we’ve listed in full below, include a range of fan favourites, and Activision said players should expect more to be made available on a regular basis.
At launch, Black Ops 6 will have 16 multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Additionally, it features the return of a more traditional Prestige system.
The game also introduces a new system called Omnimovement, which lets players utilise movement mechanics like running, sliding, jumping and diving in any direction.
“There’s no better way to get used to all the Omnimovement innovations and combat basics required to be proficient in Black Ops 6 than jumping into the Training Course featured on the Multiplayer map, Protocol,” according to Activision.
The Firing Range lets players test their equipped Loadout weapons, while Theater Mode lets players capture and relive their recent gameplay highlights, although it’s not available on PS4 or Xbox One.
Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC on the Microsoft Store, Battle.net and Steam. It will also be available on Game Pass at launch.
Pre-loading on all platforms begins on October 21 at 9am PT / 5pm BST, and the game’s file size looks set to be one of the smallest in years.
