Roflcopter Ink has dropped a new game called Professor Doctor Jetpack. But don’t let the academic title fool you, it isn’t about lectures and homework. It’s a fun game, a Precision Platformer to be precise, with physics-based controls.
If you’re a noob, precision platformers are action games known for their high difficulty, featuring frequent checkpoints and quick restarts. Super Meat Boy, Hollow Knight and the Super Mario series are some of the examples.
In the game, you strap on a volatile jetpack, blast through caves, dodge traps and fend off enemies to save the world. With the gasoline-filled, jet-powered deathtrap on your back, you’ll be trying to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
Professor Doctor Jetpack drops you into over 85 handcrafted levels filled with danger and puzzles. The cave system alone is a maze of terrifying traps and hidden dangers. It’s all part of an epic mission to save the planet.
Each level ramps up in difficulty, pushing you to balance precision and survival instincts as you tackle the hidden enemies lurking in every corner. Why don’t you take a peek at the gameplay and see how it looks?
The devs thought ahead and added a casual mode. It’s called ‘jetpack with training wheels.’ It’s still challenging but lets you ease into the whole flying deathtrap experience. As you get better, you’ll unlock and upgrade equipment to tackle tougher levels.
Professor Doctor Jetpack looks pretty awesome with its retro-style pixel art. The game is free to download and lets you try the first four biomes for free. To unlock the rest, it’s a one-time purchase of $4.99 on Android. Check the game out on theGoogle Play Store.
