, the 2014 sequel to the breakout hit horror game, introduces a whole new host of animatronics to join the original cast. A new line of animatronics, alongside the original gang of join forces to keep a very unfortunate security guard on his toes until five (or seven) nights have passed.
The two main groups are the Toy and the Withered animatronics, each of which has their own version of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. They’re joined by new animatronics like the Marionette and Balloon Boy, who each bring their own type of fear to the point-and-click horror game. With double the animatronics on the loose,some stick out in terms of scariness much more than their counterparts.
First and foremost of all the animatronics,Balloon Boy is just not scary. A little boy with a striped shirt and big blue eyes holding a sign and saying “Hi!”, Balloon Boy is not much of an antagonist. Balloon Boy never directly attacks the player, though he can hinder gameplay, which makes him more annoying than threatening, especially in the earlier nights of the game.
Balloon Boy appears as a constant running joke throughout Five Nights at Freddy's, but one theory makes his jump scares much more tragic.
Since Balloon Boy is a Toy animatronic, he is clean and new. He lacks that worn-down, broken look that adds so much to the earlier animatronics. While Balloon Boy is very polite with his “Hello!”, he doesn’t make a very frightening foe.
The new generation of animatronics for this game are the Toy line. Shinier, smoother, and with rosier cheeks, the Toy animatronics are the updated version of the original gang. Toy Freddy is the leader of the new pack, but this version of Freddydoesn’t pack the same punch as the previous one.
