Scratch and the Owlbear Cub aren't the only NPC pets and minions players can add to their party in . To access most Familiars in, players must have a Wizard, Beast Tamer Ranger, Eldritch Knight Fighter, Arcane Trickster Rogue, or Pact of the Chain Warlock and learn the Find Familiar spell. However, there are few unique, hidden familiars players can call upon to help in battle regardless of their chosen class or subclass.
These minions can either be used as cannon fodder in difficult fights against many enemies or as powerful allies able to turn the tide of challenging combat encounters. Some minions can even scout or revive fallen party members. While some hidden minions are single-use or relegated to a specific Act or location, many others can be found early and counted upon throughout main story. Here's how to find and summon all of them.
Us is the Intellect Devourer pleading for help at the beginning of Act 1 of while trying to navigate through and escape the Nautiloid. They can become a Familiar in Act 2 if they don't die ahead of the Nautiloid crash. To get them as a minion, four conditions must be met during this first meeting in Act 1:
Us will always disappear after the Nautiloid crashes. However, if all four conditions were met, they will appear again in Act 2.

To get Us as a summonable minion in , seek out and find them again in the Morgue of the Mind Flayer Colony. They will be caged and labeled "." You must convince the Hobgoblin Chop to let Us go or fight him for the key. Once freed here, Us becomes a full companion and, like Scratch, can be summoned once per Short Rest to aid in combat via the Summon Us inventory item.
If Us is summoned in a city or town around others, they will transform into a cat to avoid detection.
