One concept that has proven unpopular in the past for nevertheless deserves to be revisited on the Nintendo Switch 2. The upcoming console is expected to offer several improvements over its predecessor, which would therefore allow for a notably better gaming experience. As a result, combined with the franchise learning from past mistakes, the console offers a perfect opportunity to revive an idea that has so far received only lackluster executions.
Not every concept explored by has achieved the same level of success, although the gimmicks of the most recent games have themselves consistently proven successful. Of course, past failures to invoke the same level of appeal can result from a variety of factors, from simple poor implementation to legitimately unappealing core design features. Nevertheless, what is known about the Switch 2 points to it being more than capable of bringing the world of Hyrule to new heights, and this could easily include redeeming the franchise’s past missteps.
Multiplayer games are a clear minority in the franchise and have so far failed to equal the success of other titles.
