Netflix has shared the official Season 5 posters for the upcoming final installment of the hit psychological thriller series, starring Gossip Girl vet Penn Badgley. The show is currently targeting a 2025 release date, after four months since wrapping up its Season 5 production.
The posters feature Badgley’s Joe Goldberg, who, in the final season, will be returning to New Yor City in order to enjoy a new perfect life. However, his dark past and desires will continue to haunt him, threatening the perfect life he has envision. The posters also highlight Joe’s victims, including Beck and Love, who were his former love interests.
“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant,” Badgley said in a statement (via Tudum). “And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
Based on Caroline Kepnes’ novel series, You centers around Joe Goldberg, a toxic and delusional stalker who tends to become extremely obsessed with every girl he falls in love with. The final season will also star Charlotte Ritchie as Kate Lockwood-Goldberg, Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Bronte, Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) as twin sisters Reagan and Maddie Lockwood, Griffin Matthews (She-Hulk) as Teddy Lockwood, Natasha Behnam (The Girls on the Bus) as Dominique, Pete Ploszek (Parks & Recreation, Shameless) as Harrison, Tom Francis (Sunset Boulevard) as Clayton and b (We Crashed) as Phoenix.
The series was developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, with Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo now serving as Season 5 showrunners. It is produced by Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur, and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. Foley, Lo, Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, and Marcos Siega are executive producers.
