Shortly after the launch of Alan Wake 2’s first paid expansion, Night Springs, in June, developer Remedy Entertainment announced that the survival horror title would be getting its second and final paid DLC in October with The Lake House. At Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, we got another look at the expansion.
The Lake House will take players to the titular facility, which as a research station operated by the Federal Bureau of Control (or the FBC). As a result of reckless experiments gone wrong, however, the Dark Place has clashed with reality within the confines of the facility, yielding reckless results. In the aftermath, its on FBC Agent Kiran Estevez, the expansions’ protagonist, to unravel the mystery and put things right.
Whether or not Alan Wake himself will be returning in the DLC remains to be seen. Estevez was, of course, a key character in the base game as well, and will continue to be played by Janina Gavankar. Presumably, The Lake House will also set things in motion for the upcoming Control 2. Check out the DLC’s newest trailer below.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House is due out this October for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
