The highly anticipated horror game Alan Wake 2 will arrive on October 27, just before Halloween, and NVIDIA is poised to make sure the newest title will make the most of the 40-Series RTX graphics cards. The game will offer the definitive day-one experience for GeForce RTX 40 Series players as frame rates will see an average multiplier of 4.5X at 4K resolution with DLSS 3.5. The jaw-dropping visuals are the perfect opportunity to showcase what the RTX 40 series can do, as 1440p resolution will garner an average increase of 3X framerates with full ray tracing at maximum settings and a 2.7X increase at 1080p. A full breakdown of specific card increases is below.
Alan Wake 2 will, in fact, have every option on the table at launch including path tracing and Ray Reconstruction. RT High and RT Medium settings will use path tracing. NRD Direct and Indirect Lighting Denoising Quality options are also available for adjustment, but if DLSS Ray Reconstruction is disabled or not available, then those available settings change. There will be a Game Ready Driver for the game available on October 26. Those that purchase a GeForce RTX 4070, 4070 Ti, 4080 or 4090 GPU, a desktop PC with one of these cards, or a laptop with one of these cards from select retailers, will receive a digital copy of the game. Alan Wake 2 will also be available on GeForce NOW. You can check out the Alan Wake 2 RTX launch video below.
