Ricky Starks is one of the better talkers in AEW, and he recently had some scorching words for the flood of former WWE talent that has found a home with All Elite. He's not the first AEW wrestler to call out former superstars, and he certainly won't be the last. The likes of MJF and Scorpio Sky have spoken about guys from The Other Company during interviews and promos as well.
As far as Starks goes, he's certainly someone who has seen his potential role with AEW shrink due to former WWE wrestlers being brought in. The likes of Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, and CM Punk all pushed Starks down the so-called depth chart. He still gets an ok amount of mic time, but his appearances have largely been alongside Powerhouse Hobbs as one-half of that tag team. The last time Starks defended the FTW Championship was on the March 11 episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite when he defeated Jungle Boy.

Starks, who is never really one to mince words, took a few shots at the WWE guys who've bloated AEW's roster in recent months. While speaking with Nick Hausman on WrestlingINC's YouTube channel, he had this to say about former WWE wrestlers: "We have proven that me and Hobbs, the people who have been here through the pandemic, man, who came in around the same time, we proved exactly that me and Hobbs are better, if not levels, I mean levels, above these guys. I don’t care who you are. And you can put this in the headlines of the dirt sheets. I don’t give a s*** who you are. You can’t come in here and act like you’re way better than me or Hobbs. It ain’t gonna happen, Jack. Not as long as I got breath in my lungs." (h/t to Fightful.com for the transcription)
