«Domino» is an impressive combination of the ethical dilemmas of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek with the high-stakes space battles of George Lucas' Star Wars. It opens with the trialing of a weapon that could turn the tide of the war against the Kaylon. The devastating power of the weapon leads to an ethical debate about whether genocide is an acceptable price to pay for victory. It's exactly this sort of moral wartime quandary that defines The Orville's Star Trek: Deep Space Nine moment.
