Apple will potentially host its special event on September 12 to announce the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models along with Apple Watch Series 9. The flagship iPhones will launch with a plethora of changes and new features, including the addition of a grade 5 titanium chassis on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Additionally, the internals will be upgraded as well with an A17 Bionic chip based on TSMC's 3nm fabrication. Now, a leaker has shared details on the core count of the A17 Bionic chip alongside the RAM of the iPhone 15 Pro models which will improve the device's overall performance.
The A17 Bionic chip will pack a lot of power compared to the competition as it will be the first mobile chip to be introduced with a 3nm architecture. What this means is that the transistors will be densely packed together which will also play a major role in power efficiency. According to leaker Unknownz21 on Twitter, the A17 Bionic chip on the iPhone 15 Pro will feature a 6-core CPU and 6-core GPU. The new core count will offer enhanced computational and graphical performance on the 'Pro' models of the iPhone.
In comparison, the current A16 Bionic chip features a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU. This tells us that the iPhone 15 Pro will excel in graphics-intensive tasks such as gaming and editing. Other than the A17 Bionic's enhanced GPU cores, the leaker also details that the new 3nm chip will be coupled with 6GB RAM on the iPhone 15 Pro models. It was previously coined that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be equipped with 8GB of RAM. However, the leaker states that it is highly unlikely. In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro models also house 6GB of RAM.
The CPU performance of the A17 Bionic will also be superior to the A16 Bionic chip as the prior is
