The first Cal Kestis Lego figure has been revealed as part of a new $160 Star Wars set.
The figure is one of several that have been created to celebrate 25 years of the Lego Star Wars line.
These figures, which largely represent characters from the Star Wars canon that are fan favourites, or much-requested new characters, aren’t tied to the set they’re included in.
For example, Cal is included in anImperial Star Destroyer set, which will be released on August 1, 2024, priced at $159.99 / AU$299.99 / £149.99 / €169.99.
Cal includes a special Lego Star Wars 25th-anniversary plinth to stand on. He is seemingly based on his appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Including sought-after figures in expensive sets is nothing new for Lego. However, some fans were hoping for more official Lego Star Wars Jedi sets following the success of the Lego BD-1 set, which was released in 2022.
That set included a BD-1 minifigure, leading many to believe Lego was saving Cal for a Jedi Survivor set.
Rumours of a Lego version of the Stinger Mantis, the ship seen in the Star Wars Jedi games, have persisted for years, but none have yet to materialise.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was added to the EA Play subscription service, which is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, in late April.
VGC’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review called the game “Star Wars at its very best”, and “a thrilling adventure with a stellar cast tied together with smart, expansive combat, and huge new worlds to explore”.
“Performance issues aside, it’s easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made and only makes us wants more tales from the adventures of Cal Kestis and BD-1,” we said.
