A Borderlands ‘interactive streaming series’ has been announced
Genvid Entertainment and Gearbox Entertainment have announced “interactive streaming series” Borderlands EchoVision Live.
Mixing the worlds of TV and games, Genvid says its titles are built from the ground-up with community involvement at their core, enabling participants to directly impact how their stories unfold.
The studio, which is also working on Silent Hill: Ascension, announced the new Borderlands project at San Diego Comic-Con.
It will follow the “(mis)adventures of eight unsuspecting tourists who find themselves in peril, marooned on Eden-6 after setting off on an ‘Adventure Safari’ to follow in the footsteps of Vault Hunters and bask in their glory”.
Genvid says: “Audiences from around the world will determine whether these all-new characters make it from zeroes-to-heroes, how they handle the pressure, how they relate to each other, and what kind of person – and future Vault Hunter – each of them is.
“Fans will have direct and permanent influence on the story and characters of Borderlands: EchoVision Live, an unfolding narrative experience in which all audience members engage over which story decisions are made and collectively experience a shared outcome.”
It was confirmed last week that the Borderlands feature film will hit cinemas on August 9, 2024. Starring Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland and Jack Black as Claptrap, the movie is being written and directed by Eli Roth.
South Africa’s Film and Publication Board recently leaked a new Borderlands collection, The Borderlands Compilation: Pandora’s Box, for PC and consoles.
