Tekken 8 has been filling out its roster over the past couple of months, giving us a partial look at the game's roster. Finally, we've been given our best look at the game yet thanks to a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, alongside a release date of January 26.
First off, this new trailer gave us a first look at the game's Story Mode which is called Arcade Quest, which lets you create your own chibi character and run around a small arcade, similar to the World Tour mode that's included in Street Fighter 6. On top of that, we also got the confirmation that Tekken 8 will have a 32 character roster from launch, as well as a very brief look at numerous characters including Yoshimitsu, Kuma, and more.
Not only does this new trailer give us a new look at a bunch of previously unannounced characters, but Kuma's new design also lends even more credibility to a controversial roster leak that was shared not too long ago. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Tekken 8 will bring back Raven from Tekken 5 and will introduce a newcomer to the series in a character called Azucena, both of which appear on the leaked roster that has the community split regarding its legitimacy.
