The Palia team has been busy holding some tech tests recently, with the first and second tests having come and gone. Now, their biggest one yet is on the way – the Great Palian Stress Test, which will be on July 6th.
Singularity 6 said to anticipate multiple tests, and that all prior playtesters would be able to take part, but never did outline exactly how many tests they were planning. Now, this final PC server stress test is coming. Prepare for the possibility of 200,000 of your potential new friends all trying to test out the cozy MMO.
When they say server stress test, they meanserver stress test. They are planning to invite all previous playtesters, as the Palia team had previously announced, and ramp up those numbers to invite new and returning testers. Over 200,000 of them in total.
You can still sign up to apply to receive a test invite, and the team will be sending out invites In waves over the next two weeks. They’re starting today and they will send out invites until June 30th.
The actual test will take place in Palia on July 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific time. As the announcement makes clear, there is likely to be chaos. Chill MMO, cozy, friendly, and fun, but also chaos .
“We’re inviting over TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND new players to join us for this totally chill and definitely not at all chaotic* playtest!
*Levels of chaos may vary. Like, a lot.”
That is the nature of a stress test, though, so knowing about the potential chaos before they go ahead and launch this game is one of those necessities.
While 200,000 testers is a lot, back in March, the Palia team revealed that they had over 600,000 signups from those interested in playing the game.
