Hazel wanted to explore her sexuality by introducing a female partner, which Tarik was open to, but her jealousy issues also made it challenging for them to take the next step.

When Domenick asked about physical abuse, Hazel clearly stated Tarik never hit her or was physically abusive. According to Hazel, they had disagreements or arguments like many couples, but after confiding in others, it was they who declared it was abuse. Tarik swiftly jumped in to clarify that “There were Americans who knew she didn’t really understand the severity of what she was saying who influenced her to do that to get a rise out of me.”
