Steam has repriced Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered prior to its August 12 release date in some territories. This has caused issues for eager fans who pre-ordered the title as soon as possible, because they might end up paying more than they bargained for.
As part of PlayStation's aim to get half of its exclusive catalog onto PC, ports of the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are due to release this year on Steam and Epic Games Store. Marvel's Spider-Man will release this month complete with the City That Never Sleeps DLC, and a recent trailer and PlayStation blog post revealed that it will have a variety of new features that include an unlocked framerate, a wide range of display ratios with ultra-wide screen optimization, and improved ray tracing compared to Marvel Spider-Man Remaster's PlayStation 5. The port will also allow those with GeForce RTX GPUs to take full advantage of NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) to boost frame rates, and the AI-based NVIDIA DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) to improve visual quality.

Understandably, fans were quick to pre-order Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PC upon hearing about these improvements to the already much-loved take on the webhead, especially with the further bonus content such as early access to the Iron Spider, Spider-Punk, and Velocity suits. However, those who did are at risk of paying more for the privilege, as Steam (via GamesRadar) has revealed that the price has dropped from £54.99 to £49.99 in Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK.
