signature small Penguin Pal, Pengullet, is excellent for watering your base. Starting off small, players have Pengullet around with them from the beginning of the game until the end. Aside from Level 1 Watering Work Suitability, it can also cool your items with an expiration date with a Cooler Box.
Pengullets also have a cool partner skill that allows you to shoot them from a rocket launcher with brute force.

Penking is an early-game boss of with a Level 2 Watering Work Suitability. At level 15, you can catch the Alpha Penking instantly, upgrading your base's upkeep. The only downside to using Penking very early on is his food consumption. Make sure to cook plenty of Baked Berries or Fried Eggs to raise Penking's Nutritional Value stat faster.
