Young Sheldon co-creator Steven Molaro discusses what's next for Paige (Mckenna Grace) after her appearance on the sitcom's 100th episode. TheBig Bang Theory prequel is on its final stretch for season 5; it's currently on another hiatus, but the sitcom's latest episode gave fans plenty to talk about. That includes the recent appearance of Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) fellow prodigy, Paige Swanson.
Paige was introduced in Young Sheldon season 2; she was another kid genius who was attending Dr. John Sturgis' (Wallace Shawn) class. Paige is as intelligent, if not even better than the show's titular character. Between this and the fact that Paige appears to be better adjusted than him fuels his jealousy. But, While Sheldon views her as a rival, she doesn't seem to mind the competition, even befriending Missy. That all changed when Paige's parents split up; she started to rebel and when she re-emerged, she was in worse mental shape.

Paige has gotten increasingly frustrated about not feeling that she belongs in the University of Texas as a college student. Surprisingly, she decides to drop out of school and run away from home. She used Sheldon's dorm room as a temporary refuge, but she eventually disappeared. Ultimately, she turns up and reunites with her mom, but that doesn't solve her internal issues. This leaves her story hanging in the balance, but Young Sheldon can also cap her arc here since she was never mentioned on The Big Bang Theory.
