Of all the recognizable faces within the video game industry, Reggie Fils-Aime, the former president of Nintendo of America, is one that many members of the gaming community possess a great deal of respect for. In the years since leaving Nintendo, Fils-Aime has accomplished quite a lot and has remained an active presence within the gaming community. Recently, Fils-Aime revealed his favorite non-Nintendo game, and it is quite surprising.
It's not uncommon for various gaming executives affiliated with a specific publisher to enjoy titles produced by other big-name studios. For instance, the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has on multiple occasions supported and praised both Sony and Nintendo for several different reasons. Though, in this particular case, it seems that the former Nintendo president is a big fan of Xbox's most famous franchise.
Reggie Fils-Aime's Advisor Once Told Him Not to Take the Job at Nintendo
During an interview over on G4TV, Fils-Aime was asked what his favorite non-Nintendo title was, and he answered almost immediately with Halo. Fils-Aime later went on to discuss how before he even began working for Nintendo, his kids had begged him to buy an original Xbox and play Halo with them. While Fils-Aime didn't quite mention how much of the Halo franchise he had been exposed to outside of the first game, it's still interesting to hear what he had to say about it.
It goes to show how much attention Halo: Combat Evolved managed to draw when it was first released. Fils-Aime obviously wasn't president of Nintendo of America at the time, but the fact that an Xbox game that was released back in 2001 managed to leave that much of an impact on him for so many years truly goes to show how much influence and popularity Halo
