E3 2023 is set to return to Los Angeles this June, and now Microsoft has officially confirmed that Xbox will not be involved in the event with an booth on the show floor.
In a statement to IGN, an Xbox spokesperson said the company will co-stream its June 11 Xbox Games Showcase as part of E3 2023's digital component. However, Xbox confirmed that it «will not be on the E3 show floor.»
None of this is a surprise, as it was reported recently that Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo would not be officially involved with E3 2023.
IGN also reported that participation for E3 2023 «continues to be unsettled.» The report added that «many publishers are unclear on who will be taking part in the event.»
E3's new organizer, ReedPop, announced this week that unnamed «AAA companies» will appear at the event.
«The full roster of exhibitors will be announced in the lead-up to the expo, providing participating companies the opportunity to make their own individual announcements beforehand,» ReedPop said.
Although Microsoft is not officially involved with E3 2023 through a booth on the show floor, Xbox is a big believer in E3 as an event. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer told IGN that, «We are doing everything we can to help make E3 successful.»
Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase during E3 week this year is set for Sunday, June 11, and it will be followed by an event dedicated entirely to Starfield. The game was recently delayed yet again and is now set for release in September 2023.
E3 2023 returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center this June, kicking off June 13. The event will feature different opportunities for general fans and business partners.
