The head writer of, Beau DeMayo, has confirmed the identity of the animated sequel series’ primary villain.
The Direct has reported that at the X-Men: 60 Uncanny Years Live Virtual Event, DeMayo confirmed that ‘s lead villain would be Nathaniel Essex/Mister Sinister, who will once again be voiced by actor Christopher Britton.
“A very, very, very, very favorite character of mine and many others, Mr. Sinister, will rear his ugly head from the past with a pretty foolproof plan to destroy the X-Men once and for all,” DeMayo teased.
Sinister is a recurring villain of the X-Men, frequently antagonizing them in the comics and various television shows. The character was even teased at the end of 2016’s .
is being written by DeMayo, who also wrote ‘s animated spin-off for Netflix. The new series will retain the original theme music from the iconic animated series of the past. Alongside new information from the series, DeMayo has confirmed that a second season is already in development, although little information about that has been revealed or discussed.
