Wordle has become a staple in many people's morning routine with its simple premise, once-a-day nature, and easy-to-learn gameplay. June 24th brings along with it another new word for players to solve and today's answer isn't too difficult, but it's definitely not a commonly used word. There is a strong possibility that players could get stuck in a loop of too many choices, depending on what letters they end up getting off of their starting word. Not quite as common as the suffix 'ER' or 'ING', today's Wordle answer does end in a couple of letters that could go with many other words.

One way to combat wasted guesses in Wordle is to turn on the Hard Mode provided in the options menu. This mode simply locks in clues as they are given so players have to advance forward with the information obtained. If a letter is proven correct, it must be used in future guesses, or if it is shown to be incorrect it is removed as a choice. This helps avoid answers that are obviously incorrect but does stop players from using certain combos just to learn if a letter is correct or not.
For those players who just need a little extra help and don't want the full Wordle answer for the day spoiled, here are some hints that should help.
Today's Wordle answer is SMITE.
Quite an old-timey word not often used in modern conversation, smite means to strike with a firm blow. For our Wordle starting word, we went with IRATE which provided the last two letters in the correct position and one incorrectly placed 'I'.
