A recent job listing at Wolfenstein developer MachineGames seems to suggest that the studio is working on Wolfenstein 3.
As spotted by Tech4gamers, the Bethesda-owned studio is currently hiring for a Senior Animator to help create "new exciting AAA titles". Now, while the job listing doesn't directly confirm that Wolfenstein 3 is in development, the required qualifications do make mention of a "passion for video games and especially for first-person immersive games". In addition, under the preferred skills of a candidate, the ad mentions a "strong familiarity with MachineGames´ titles". Another indication that this job listing is related to Wolfenstein 3 is the preferred skills of experience "animating creatures of quadruped characters", which both are present in other Wolfenstein entries.
Now, while we know that MachineGames is also working on an Indiana Jones game, a first-person Indiana title appears to be unlikely.
Back in May of 2018, MachineGames already hinted at a new Wolfenstein game in the series, teasing that the team might do some new things with it. “[Wolfenstein III would] play with the format a bit", MachineGames designer Andreas Öjerfors said in an interview. "Not because it's necessary but because we would like to do something different. [The New Colossus] is now our third Wolfenstein game [following The New Order and the Old Blood expansion]. If we would continue down that route [Wolfenstein 3] we would play with the format a bit, do something that would interest us."
