While all three offer similar experiences as fantasy takes on Japanese history for and Chinese history for, each game's gameplay and mechanics can differ in various ways, with in particular diverging heavily from the series' stance-based gameplay.
Taking heavy cues from the massively successful formula popularized by, Team Ninja was among the first developers outside FromSoftware to give its own take on the genre — and although has ended with as its last game, the studio's efforts have continued with. Despite being derived from, each Team Ninja Soulslike manages to differentiate itself fairly well from the series they were inspired by; with systems that give the games something of a speedier flow and more complex movesets. When comparing the three games, however, one may offer a more complete experience for players looking to choose a single game to play through.
