Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi addresses whether or not there will be a Thor 5 after the upcoming sequel. Since 2008, Marvel Studios has managed to introduce over a dozen iconic members of the Avengers. One of the original figures to help establish the MCU in its early days was Thor, with Chris Hemsworth bringing the God of Thunder to life. Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, Thor is now the only remaining character of the original trio, as Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, while Steve Rogers retired as Captain America.
The Thor franchise began to shift direction starting with Ragnarok when Waititi boarded the series. Following the success of the Thor threequel due to the director's unique brand of irreverent comedy and stunning visual style, Waititi is back for the fourth installment, Love and Thunder. The upcoming film will see Hemsworth return as the mighty Avenger as he attempts to find inner peace after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. However, Love and Thunder will see Hemsworth's hero forced to put peace aside and team up with Valkyrie, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jane Foster (now Mighty Thor) to take down the MCU's newest villain: Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale.
