Martin Singer, the attorney for Bruce Willis, has released a statement in support of producer Randall Emmett following accusations of elder abuse. On March 30, 2022, Willis' family made the announcement that the iconic Die Hard and Unbreakable actor had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language impairment that affects a person's ability to comprehend speech. They announced that he would be retiring from acting following a long career that stretched over 40 years and included projects as varied as the classic sitcom Moonlighting, the Luc Besson space opera The Fifth Element, and the Oscar-nominated M. Night Shyamalan horror film The Sixth Sense.
Recently, The Los Angeles Times ran a profile on Emmett, suggesting that the producer was aware of Willis' condition but pushed him to work despite his limitations. The producer was also the director of Midnight in the Switchgrass, one of Willis' more high-profile recent films in which he appears as an FBI officer opposite Megan Fox and her now-boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly. Many crew members from the set have stated that they were aware of Willis' aphasia, leading some to accuse Emmett of elder abuse.
