Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 star Maria Bakalova reacts to the official news of her casting. The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe outing comes from The Suicide Squad director James Gunn, who returns to direct the third instalment of his trilogy. Bakalova was the breakout star of 2020’s Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. The Bulgarian-born 26-year old was Oscar-nominated for her role in the outrageous hidden-camera comedy sequel, praised by critics and audiences alike for her scene-stealing debut. Since her awards season buzz, Bakalova has been snapped up for recent Netflix comedyThe Bubble, and now finds herself joining the biggest franchise in cinema with a part in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
