Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Review - An Outstanding Addition
The recently released expansion, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, is a perfect addition to the game and offers plenty of new challenges to conquer. Developer and publisher Studio MDHR delivers a new and interesting story in the same classic 1930s-style cartoon environment. There are six main bosses, a new set of challenges, and a few secrets to uncover while progressing on Island IV.
The story behind this new expansion centers around Ms. Chalice and her quest to regain her physical form. With help from Chef Saltbaker, Ms. Chalice is able to come back to life. However, the effects of the Chef's Astral Cookie charm are temporary and come at a steep price. To make the effects permanent, Chef Saltbaker requires a few rare ingredients to bake a Wondertart. Ms. Chalice, along with Cuphead and Mugman, sets out to collect the ingredients from the unique bosses in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course.

As the newest playable character, Ms. Chalice offers a completely different experience while fighting bosses. Ms. Chalice automatically parries when the dash skill is used, and she can also double jump. However, her useful abilities come at the cost of losing the charm slot. The only way to use Ms. Chalice is to equip the Astral Cookie, so any other charm abilities are unavailable with this character. However, in many instances, the sacrifice is worth it to have access to Ms. Chalice's moveset. Even though Ms. Chalice's unique abilities give her an advantage, the new bosses are by no means easy.
