New fan art for Black Adam imagines a comic-accurate version of the villain Sabbac. Helmed by prolific horror director Jaume Collet-Serra, the upcoming DCEU feature marks the superhero debut of Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson. In 2014, Johnson was cast as Black Adam, but a solo film for his anti-hero wasn't conceived until 2017. TheBlack Adam movie was delayed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now, the film is on track for its October release. Right now, plot details on the movie aren't completely clear, although the official Black Adam trailer has indicated that the film will center on the titular warrior's reemergence after his wrongful imprisonment 5000 years ago.
Besides Johnson's superhero, Black Adam is much-anticipated because it introduces several beloved DC Comics characters. For one, the Justice Society of America will be making its cinematic debut, with Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan playing notable members Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Doctor Fate, respectively. Sarah Shahi is reportedly playing the female lead Adrianna Tomaz/Isis, while Aladdin's Marwan Kenzari has been cast as the villain. While not officially confirmed, it's been rumored that Kenzari's Black Adam villain will be the demonic beast Sabbac, who is the superpowered alter-ego of the mobster Ishmael Gregor. DC has been decidedly coy about Sabbac's involvement in Black Adam, and his intentions and powers are also a mystery at this point.
