How time flies. Somehow, League of Legends: Wild Rift launched three years ago, and, to celebrate, Riot is bringing a bunch of new content to the game on October 24.
To begin, Wild Rift is getting Arena mode, which exists in the OG version of League of Legends. It features four teams of two, who battle each other until only one is standing.
Rounds are split up into two phases: shop phase, during which you purchase your items, and combat phase. You can probably guess what happens here.
I’m not going to detail the ins and outs of this mode in its entirety. You can basically consider it League of Legends: Wild Rift’s battle royale mode on a smaller scale.
Also included in this update are three new champions: Sivir, Zyra, and Fiddlesticks, Ranked Mode Season 11, and, of course, a new Wild Pass.
In terms of in-game events, Wild Rift is collaborating with Coca-Cola, of all companies. You can complete daily missions for additional rewards, which, I presume, draw inspiration from the delicious beverage.
There’s even space for events outside of the game. The Power Spike Gallery invites you to submit fanart, cosplays, or decent in-game footage from the past three years of the game.
Do so and you unlock rewards for every single person who plays during the third anniversary period. You don’t even need to submit something either. Simply participate by showing love and support to other’s creations.
And, finally, Riot will host real-life events in Brazil and South Korea for all of the audience to turn up and hang out, celebrating the game in person.
So, plenty of exciting content still to come for Wild Rift, a whole three years following its official launch. If you’d like to check it out, grab it right now from Google Play.
